The glorious destiny of all believers is to be with God for eternity. Unfortunately, many people live mostly for today. They live in fear before God and man because they feel they have much to lose by submitting to God’s leadership. They are content to hope God’s eternal destiny for them will somehow work itself out later. This is not God’s desire for any of us, and Jesus is completely committed to His Father’s plan... Intercession, Inward Transformation, and Revival Power – God’s Keys to Ending Abortion - An article by David Sliker. At this writing the IHOP-KC Missions Base is in the midst of a 21 day fast as well as participating in the Silent Siege led by Bound4Life-KC – a stand against abortion involving hundreds standing in silence outside of a Planned Parenthood in Overland Park with red masking tape over every mouth marked only with the word “LIFE”. The Prayer Siege is... The Beauty of His Leadership [ part 1 ] [ part 2 ] - An article by David Sliker. Imagine the scene. It is Revelation chapter five, and we are in the throne room of heaven with all of the angels. God Himself is seated on His throne, holding a scroll in His hand. The beauty of all that we are seeing (or, at least, able to see in our limited capacity to take it in) is almost indescribable, completely breathtaking, staggering in its captivating wonder and majesty. And John is weeping and weeping... Keeping Charge of the Sanctuary – The “Sacred Trust” of the Full-Time Intercessor - An article by David Sliker. In Ezekiel 44:15 the Lord makes a glorious promise to the sons of Zadok because of their great faithfulness. The promise is this: “The priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near Me to minister to Me…” It is a promise that is very similar to the one given in Revelation 3:12 – “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more.” It is the promise of ministering to the Lord forever... Contending for a Grateful Heart - An article by David Sliker. Today in the Body of Christ there is a secret yet nearly overwhelming issue that is creeping into the hearts of believers everywhere, powerful yet undetected. It could be the single most deadly issue to take root in our hearts, yet our pride tends to blind us to the fact that we even struggle with this problem: covetousness. Teaching Notes
David says: "an introduction to Psalm 119 and the invitation of God to young men and women to be cleansed in their way in their pursuit of wholeheartedness in love for God. Well be posting the MP3 of this message at some point soon when we roll out our new IHOP-KC Student Ministries website. Side note: this new website will have a ton of content for students and leaders involved in Junior and Senior High School ministry - well be announcing it soon."
David says: "from the Joseph Company summit by the same name that I shared at in the fall. Is this concept a biblical one? Why would God establish this in the book of Exodus, and what purpose would a divine pocket of mercy serve in the days to come? I know that, for me, I get a little (just a little) bugged when this concept becomes a means of avoidance or escape for a believer that desires to be removed from coming trouble. In other words, this theological concept can sometimes be just as misapplied and erroneous as the pre-trib rapture; except that its a means for the post-trib believer that knows that the idea of a rapture before the coming trouble is unbiblical yet one can still be on the earth during the judgments of God and live in relative comfort and ease. The point in the days to come is to be unshakable, not comfortable, in the midst of great trouble."
David says: "what are the components that serve our pursuit of night and day, unceasing prayer? How can we pray and not lose heart? The biblical components to a life of unhindered, empowered, continual prayer are found in Romans 14:17 - and I break it down a little bit for those who desire to lead others into a life of night and day prayer." The Beatitudes: The Only Way to Happiness and Greatness - Teaching notes from David Sliker. Teaching from the House of Prayer Leadership Summit, January 2007. The Sermon on the Mount is the “constitution of God’s Kingdom.” It is the litmus test to measure spiritual development and ministry impact. We measure our ministry impact by how much people seek to walk out the Sermon on the Mount values... Apostolic Community in Romans - Teaching notes from David Sliker. Teaching from the House of Prayer Leadership Summit, January 2007. The book of Romans is one of our most incredible gifts from God in modeling true apostolic leadership and government in partnership with the Holy Spirit. Incredible challenges await us in the place of leading “prayer-friendly communities” that preserve the central place of prayer and stir believers to continually lay hold of the inheritance of encountering God that can be had in such a context... The Three Fold Intercessory Cry - Teaching notes from David Sliker. Teaching from Onething 2006. There are three factors at the end of the age that all play critical roles in the timing of the return of Jesus to the earth: the final rejection of the nations, the unified invitation of His Bride, and the rage of the nations against Jerusalem and the Jews.
