There’s a few resources available…
November 29th, 2007
I kinda, sorta forgot that there were so many articles, handouts, and mp3 files available on my website here. I was slightly surprised. I’m also motivated to throw way more resources here and elsewhere out there for the hungry and the curious.
Elsewhere? Well, my plan is to aggressively compete for the eyes of a generation in prayer and proclamation in the days to come, calling teenagers to turn their eyes from worthless things and set them fully on the beauty of the Lord. One of the many initiatives I want to launch in 2008 is a fairly aggressive addition to the ihop.org website, that being a section dedicated to equipping High School students and Youth Pastors with as many materials and tools as we can possibly cram into their hands to do prayer meetings, bible studies, and end-times discussion groups.
The IHOP-KC website already has a fairly ridiculous amount of material and handouts, in my opinion. I have this crazy ambition to double the output and really get more of the message of a movement out there for youth and young adults who are responding to the invitation of the Lord to a life of unusual dedication and passionate pursuit. What can I say? I like free resources.
More and more information to come as the days grow shorter…
David

I just want to say how privileged my generation is for having leaders like you to lead us. I’m a Sophomore in a public school, and any advice is greatly appreciated. It’s hard to be forerunners, expecially with the enemy attacking at every corner.
Thank you for interceding for the youth. We need God’s presence; to be in awe of Him like the first church. Business strikes us hard as I am sure you understand. Please pray that God would give us divine ways to lead the way because we can’t do it by ourselves, nor do we want to do it by ourselves. We need to aquire a limp so that we lean on our Lover as we come from the desert place. We need to be slain, slain with desire for Jesus alone.
I cannot thank you enough for your prayers. It does more than I can express with words. It even reaches us here in Oklahoma. Isn’t it awesome how He constructs His ways! Love you brother, may you be overwhelmed with His presence.

Never, bro - I would never dream of forgetting about college students. Being at IHOP-KC, where we have over a thousand college students that I interact with on a regular basis pretty much assures me that I could never forget the heart of what God is doing in this hour.

Thanks David for pushing for more free teachings. This is where i have gotten most of my fuel over the past 2 years. I live in the south and am an IM for a HOP in Hattiesburg, so these teachings from IHOP’s various teachers have sooo helped me not being able to visit IHOP every day/ month…I so appreciate you pushing for more teachings, it really helps other houses of prayer all over the nation.

I’m with Kirk Bennett, though, for sure - I think you need both free and “non-free” resources to fuel and fund a movement. I am all for finding creative ways to fund intercessory missions and night and day prayer (as are you). I just want to make sure that, in a prayer movement, materials are flowing in the right balance of free and, again, “non-free”.

Speaking of funding the prayer movement…What are your thoughts on the best ways to raise support for a house of prayer, are there any resources available on helping to raise more support?

Dave,
Suggestion for the website. Develop a type of “myspace” for youth and young adults but with the whole prayer house in mind. I’m not sure what this would look like, but community areas of sites which allow for live interaction are what most humans on the planet under 30 are doing daily. It would be revolutionary at least in terms of prayer rooms and websites are concerned.
Maybe folks in the prayer room could eventually interact, oversee, monitor, direct, etc, some of the IHOP “myspace” activities here and there (especially as thousands of added to your team, right?)
We are doing something like this on our Hebrew website. There’s a big buzz about it all. But if we had a 24/7 furnace which could be the epicenter providing focus for such a thing? Now that would be a cool.
Just a thought.
blessings to you bro,
Jim

Kinda late on this thread, but I just hooked up with your sight. I have been eatting your teaching like candy (chews more like good meat though) on my lunch breaks at work. Found out about you after dwnloading some teachings from the last end times conference. One of our youth turned me on to the podcasts adn I was delighted to see more from you and others.
I have been duplicating cd’s and ignighting fires around here from you and Billy Humphrey- His five part series on the day of the Lord is really good adn I have stirred an old pastor friend of my to re thinking where he’s at on things- not just his theology, but how awake he is. I gave him my copy of Correy’s ancient paths and he was shook to say the least. Last time I talked to him he had listened to it four times and played it for his prayer group., I’m sure it’s still spinning in his player.
I am absolutely ravenous hungry for what your putting out there. You have my deepest gratitude- thanks. I am in process of publishing my frst book and it centers around the end times church adn what the Lord is doing to prepare us through the severity of the times, etc. You know, you think you understand some things and then you come across stuff like yours or Kirk B’s deal on Joel two and your jaw drops… thanks for keepin me low like this, I am way challenged.
I am on bottom floor of starting a furnace for my city and am working with two prayer groups at my church, one is for youth. Anything you could direct me to that would be helpful in building would be much appreciated. Especially for the youth.
